Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station is the central station in the city, offering connections to many UK destinations like London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and Scotland. You can find accessible ticket machines near the station entrance by the ticket office. There's also a coffee shop and a convenience store at the entrance. Inside the station, you'll find toilet facilities. St. Mary Redcliffe Church is just a short walk away.

The station was conveniently located across the street from our hotel. We used it several times will visiting Bristol. Kept clean. Lots of food and coffee options.

Works going on at the moment but the staff are friendly and helpful and there's a Starbucks and some amazing cornish pasties if you're hungry.

Hopeless British trains ready to let you down again and again without fail. Temple Meads should be a jewel of a station with it's classic design, instead it's a hive of neverending repairs, endless 'platform congestion', crowds of people trying to stuff into overcrowded trains and that's on a good day. Still at least there is a toilet and a WH Smith there to leech you for a simple bottle of water.

Historic architecture treated badly. We passed through here off peak on a sunny day for a day trip so perhaps not the typical customer for this station. Trains were all on time and clean and tidy. The approach to the station building itself is impressive and the original design has not been hidden away. Flower displays and lights in keeping with the architecture brighten the approach to the main entrance. There’s a well laid out but rather small display on the left as you walk towards the station detailing a little about Brunel. It’s worth a quick read. Unfortunately, the outside front is as good as it gets. Inside, it’s easy to get around the station and there are places to buy food and travel essentials during normal shop hours. Sadly, too many of the original features in the walkways are hidden behind unsympathetic modern marble façades with gaudy plastic decorations in the centre of the walkway. Wander around to the back entrance and the neglect becomes evident. The splendid brickwork is marred by clumsy wiring, anti pigeon spikes and modern signage. Little effort has been made to accentuate the original grandeur of the place. One old shed looks like it’s a car park devoid of any atmosphere. OK to use as train station but it’s a poor example of how to treat an historic building.

Bristol Temple mead as a first time traveller looks daunting however the staff and the station signs could not have made it easier. They always had staff on the platform to guide you. Absolutely fantastic experience

I was pleased to find that short term parking for dropping off and picking up passengers is still available free of charge right outside the main entrance of the station. However, it is still necessary to get a ticket from the machine, …
